What’s new

  • v1.0.3 — New website design, screenshots, and update notice banner.
  • v1.0.2 — Performance tweaks and better image loading.
  • v1.0.1 — Initial Tiler Quote website refresh.

1) Start a new quotation

  1. Open Tiler Quote on your device.
  2. Tap New Quotation.
  3. Enter a Room Name (e.g., “Kitchen”).

2) Room area & units

For Room Area you can use the built-in calculator or enter the area manually. Supported units: , cm², in², ft².

  • Manual: pick the unit you measured with and enter the value directly.
  • Change unit quickly: long-press on the room area field to switch units.
Tip: The calculator can handle multiple walls/floors using sum of areas.

3) Tiles & skirting

  • Enter Tile Length and Width.
  • Long-press a dimension to apply it to length, width & skirting height in one tap.
  • Choose material mode: Tiles or Mazeras.
  • Skirting: enable skirting and set a height; the app calculates skirting area automatically.
  • Tiles storage:
    • If the tile already exists, Tiler Quote auto-fills pieces per box and saved prices.
    • If it’s new, enter pieces/box and price once — the app remembers it for next time.

4) Labour pricing

Long-press on the Labour field to choose how you want to charge:

  • % of materials — good when you price labour as a percentage of total materials.
  • Per m² — fixed rate per square metre (e.g., KSh 350/m²).

5) Binders (cement / adhesive)

Select what you’re using so the app applies the right coverage and bag counts.

  • Example: 50 kg bag4.59 m² in one sample profile.
  • Example tiles: 30×30 cm ≈ 17 pcs (~3 boxes) per bag in that setup.
  • Adjust Binder Rate to match your crew and brand of adhesive/cement.
Important: Confirm the binder type before calculating — changing after export can give different results.

6) Accessories & spacers

  • Select accessories like grout, spacers, steel wool, etc.
  • Pick the spacer size that matches your design (e.g., 2 mm, 3 mm).
  • Accessories summary will combine all rooms later so you can see totals per project.

7) Calculate & Save

  1. Tap Calculate. The result appears and the quote is saved to Saved Quotes.
  2. Open Saved Quotes to see full material, labour and accessories breakdown for each room.

8) Manage quotes & tasks

  • Move quotes to Pending Tasks to track jobs you’ve already agreed with the client.
  • Use Purchase List output when going to the shop for materials.
  • Use Load to Invoice when you are ready to bill the client.

9) Create & export invoice (PDF)

  1. From a saved quote, tap Invoice and fill in your Business Info (saved on device).
  2. Add Client Name, contact and any notes or terms.
  3. Choose Export PDF to generate a client-ready invoice. You can then share or print it.
  4. All invoices appear in the app’s Invoices section for later viewing or re-sending.

10) Tiles, mazeras & requirements

Use the master lists to make future quotes faster:

  • Store common tile sizes, mazeras types and prices.
  • Maintain default requirements (cement, adhesive, grout, spacers, etc.) with their units.
  • When you quote again, most fields auto-fill from these saved profiles.

Pro tips & long-press actions

  • Room area: long-press to switch units quickly.
  • Tile dimensions: long-press to apply one value to all sides and skirting height.
  • Labour: long-press to choose between % of materials and per m².
  • Tiles storage: set pieces/box & price once — reused across all future quotes.
Before exporting: double-check binder type, tile size, and labour mode. Changing these after sending a quote can create confusion with the client.

FAQ

My tile isn’t auto-filling pieces/box.

Enter pieces/box and price once in tiles storage. Next time you pick that tile, Tiler Quote will fill those values automatically.

Can I price labour per m² instead of %?

Yes. Long-press on the labour field and select /m², then set your square-metre rate.

Can I change units later?

Yes. Long-press the room area field any time to switch between m², ft², cm² or in². The app re-calculates using your new unit.
